Frampton 10K

Almosts at Frampton 09

A 30-strong team of Almost Athletes turned out for the Frampton 10K and the combination of a fairly flat course and the cooler weather produced some excellent times. Paul Meyer led the team throughout the picturesque course of country lanes and was first to cross the finishing line on the village green in a time of 40 minutes 47 seconds. Chris Midgeley was pleased to record 41.28 after a succession of recent under-par performances and he was followed in by an improving Ali Shaikh, currently training for the JW Ultra in September, who succeeded in cutting 2 minutes off his time here last year. The first lady home for the Almosts was Katie Rose in an impressive 43.33, followed by Claire Morgan in 44.40 and then Karen Galpin whose time of 46.14 secured her the position of 2nd LV45 in the race. Further notable performances were achieved by an improving Ed Cane who finished in under 48 minutes and by Martin Workman who managed a personal best time of 53.39.
